A Punta Arenas native, Nelson has worked as a mountaineering guide, environmental risk management professional, and on projects related to forest and glacier conservation. He loves playing sports (basketball, running, rugby), studying the history of Patagonia and the polar regions, and collecting antique maps of Antarctica. He divides his time between Punta Arenas and the United States.
