Destination

Union Glacier

Union Glacier Camp is the only full-service private camp of its kind on the continent. More than just a place to stay, Union Glacier is the central hub of Antarctic exploration. It offers comfortable accommodations for guests on guided adventures while also serving as a vital logistics center—supporting private expeditions, scientific research teams, and National Antarctic Programs from around the world.

See the Heart of Antarctic Logistics

Tucked deep within the Southern Ellsworth Mountains, our main camp rests on the vast, shimmering expanse of Union Glacier—accessible only by air and unlike anywhere else on Earth. Just a short flight from Mount Vinson, Antarctica’s highest peak, and a mere 600 nautical miles (1,138 km) from the South Pole, Union Glacier is perfectly positioned for adventure. From our medical facilities, meteorology station, mechanical services bays, equipment stores, polar library, gift shop, and more – you can experience the full hum of what it takes to operate a thriving Antarctic logistics center.

Gather, Dine, Connect

At the heart of Union Glacier Camp lies our dining tent—a warm,  welcoming hub where adventurers from around the globe gather to share meals,  swap stories, and forge connections. Whether you’re preparing for a Mount Vinson  summit or returning from a Ski South Pole expedition, this is where paths cross and  camaraderie begins. You’ll meet fellow explorers, chat with our multilingual staff  (fluent in over 15 languages), and perhaps even engage with scientists conducting  groundbreaking research on the ice. It’s a vibrant, international atmosphere unlike  any other. Our skilled chefs work magic in a fully equipped kitchen, serving up fresh cooked meals, homemade baked goods, and decadent desserts. Thanks to regular  flights from Chile, we offer an impressive selection of fresh fruits, vegetables,  meats, and cheeses—even in the heart of Antarctica.
