Antarctic Logistics & Expeditions LLC (ALE) offers air transportation, logistic support, and guided experiences for those venturing to the interior of Antarctica. In 1985, our predecessor, Adventure Network International (ANI), pioneered private flights to Antarctica for an ascent of Mount Vinson. More than 30 years later, we remain the most experienced private operator on the continent with an impeccable safety record, a strong environmental ethic, and a desire to share the white continent with other passionate explorers.
ALE Partners have all been active in the Antarctic since the late 1970s. A few were involved with ANI in that company’s early days. In 2003, they came together with new partners to incorporate ALE and ultimately purchase ANI.

Our year-round office is located in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Salt Lake serves as the hub of our operation overseeing marketing and sales, accounting and finance, and purchasing and construction projects. We chose Salt Lake for our headquarters due to its prominent winter recreation industry. The city is home to many outdoor companies as well as heavy machinery suppliers specializing in snow equipment. As a result we can source many of the items we require for operating in Antarctica and ship them down to Punta Arenas, Chile for transport to the ice.
All of our Antarctic flights originate in Punta Arenas, Chile which serves as the starting point for all of our guests. We maintain a seasonal office here managed by our Chilean agent, Red de Aventura a la Antártica Ltda (RAAL).
During the Antarctic summer (November-January), we maintain a blue-ice runway and seasonal camp on Union Glacier . We also open various field camps on Mount Vinson, at the South Pole, and near the Gould Bay Emperor Penguin Colony.
ALE is truly an international company with team members working remotely in multiple time zones to support our operation year-round.
Traveling deep into the interior of Antarctica is like visiting no other place on earth. Our unique infrastructure affords unparalleled access to the white continent’s best destinations:
ALE has operated continuously since 1987
Safety is our top priority and everything we do starts with creating a safe environment for our guests and our team.
